From its launch in 2002 the FCS Mobile Takeback Forum (MTF) has taken a prominent position on disposal and recycling issues. With the adoption by the European Parliament of the WEEE and RoHS Directives the groundwork is done. The MTF’s next challenge is to build on this success and work with the UK government to help shape the implementation of the WEEE directive, which is planned to come into force in 2007 in the UK. MTF aims to achieve safe, sustainable and environmentally sound policies that do not place unnecessary restrictions or burdens on its members.
